Four seasons 

Horka89 is available to our guests all year round. It is located at mountain altitudes, so spring comes about 3 weeks later, winter comes a little earlier. In recent years there has been less snow, but there can also be a proper layer of it. It is beautiful at Horka at the end of April/May, when the orchard turns into a romantic garden. The Indian summer in October, with its harvest of apples, nuts, pears and plums and all the smells of wood and earth also has a surprising power. When it's not pleasant outside, just fire up the fireplace and stay in. However the nature here is so beautiful in all weather conditions that it will draw you outside, even though we are no longer used to walking in the rain.

Life at Horka

The forest fire site

On 23 July 2022, a forest fire broke out in Bohemian-Saxon Switzerland - the largest fire in the modern history of the Czech Republic. It successively affected more than 1,600 hectares of the National Park on the Czech side and 250 hectares on the German side. It was finally extinguished 19 days later. In the first days the wind drove the fire towards us, for two days we were preparing to evacuate, guests watched the smoke plume, the sun could not be seen through the smoke. It was apocalyptic. Then the wind changed, and we and our neighbors were busy supporting the firefighters. Also thanks to you, the guests, they received thousands of cans of Red Bull, ice coffee, Coca-Cola, cakes, patches, cough pastilles and other supplies that were desperately needed at the headquarters in Hřensko. 

As we know, nature loves fires. It has already started to regenerate and we all now have the opportunity to watch it for ourselves over the next few years. So don't hesitate to go to the fire sites that are near the holiday homes.
