Among the grasslands, at the end of a road, 5,000 m² of privacy and tranquility. A brick house - said to be that of a British textile dyer - which has been preserved in its simplicity, surrounded by the landscape of Bohemian Switzerland. It has three bedrooms, a living room with fireplace and kitchen area, a spacious hall, two toilets and two bathrooms. Everything inside and around the house is at the disposal of our guests.
Part of the landscape
Horka89 is not just a house, but a part of the landscape that will become your home for a while. An open space of farmland where the sun wakes you up quite early and the sunsets are long and bloody. The breeze is here in the mornings and evenings and intensifies during spring and autumn. We cut the grass so that you can enjoy the soft footfall as well as the buzz of the meadows. There is an old orchard to harvest in the fall; the mists, the sun, the rain - everything feels natural and familiar.
Silence, darkness and space
The house is deliberately simple, although it could be even more so. We wanted to surround ourselves and you with peace and clarity, where the sight of every edge, every structure will be pleasant. Where decorations and unnecessary furnishings will not preoccupy your eyes or your mind. On the other hand, why not have comfort where there is nothing at stake. Unobtrusive, unpretentious, functional. The greatest luxuries here are the silence, darkness, crackling fire and space that opens in front of you.
Comfort without glamor
Horka89 is not a finished place and perhaps it never will be. We keep observing the house - what makes the light come in, where the heat flows, what one needs here when it rains for a few days, when one is here alone, when one is here with family or a bunch of friends. But many things here are completely without a particular purpose, or their function is outweighed by their vanity. Who needs a canopy bed, right?
Without compromise
It's an honor to host you. And we'd like you to be able to travel light. We're always thinking about what you might need or miss to feel comfortable here. We cultivate our space in a slow and gradual way. We created Horka89 for ourselves, not knowing how many guests it would welcome. It's a personal testimony, but open to listen to your wishes. So do make a wish.
Life
The interior has no style, nor was there any style wanted. It is a cabinet of curiosities that life has brought us, things we have always wanted, things that we felt belonged here. We are glad that the guests are comfortable here and that the house is alive. This completes the circle, because a house without life would seem useless to us.
